What Are We?

We are a group of tennis players who meet three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at Carnarvon Park Tennis Courts in Victoria BC Canada. (for more on Victoria, see link Where Are We below)

Play starts around 9 am and by noon we have usually dwindled to a handful of players. On well attended days we have had as many as twenty or more players show up.

There is no membership fee, players arrive and join in the play. There is no age limit, and although the group consists largely of seniors, we occasionally have sons and grandsons come along and join in the play.

The format for play is doubles, though when there are an odd number of players, there will often be some singles or 'threes' playing, waiting to make up a foursome.

The few rules we have, apart from adhering to standard rules of play, are that if there are spare players waiting to play, we only play four games, each player serving one game. If the score is 2-all then a fifth game is played to break the tie.

During the winter months many players form foursomes and use indoor court facilities to continue their 'racketeering'. By March, most of us are itching to get outside again.
